Project: SOCareers

SOCareers is your ultimate companion to managing your professional connections and internship applications. Designed with School of Computing (SoC) students in mind, it is optimised for use via a Command Line Interface (CLI), enabling you to organise your information more efficiently than traditional Graphical User Interface (GUI) apps if you can type fast.

I have contributed to the project in the following ways:

• Code contributed: RepoSense link

• Enhancements implemented:
  • Added more specific exception messages and more precise error handling.
  • Refactored code for better code quality and testability
  • Added Code Coverage tests for parser classes
  • Fixed exceptions raised during feature implementations
• Contribution to the UG:
  • Formatted the initial draft of the UG for Markdown
  • Added the Quick Start section in the UG
  • Added the documentation for the Clear command and Exit command
  • Added the Known Limitations section of the UG
• Contribution to the DG:
  • Updated the Planned Enhancements Section in the following PRs: PR#272, PR#265
  • Added Non-Functional Requirements to the DG
  • Updated the Table of Contents of the DG
• Contribution to team-based tasks:
  • Attended weekly meetings and contributed to the discussion of the implementation of features and other future plans actively.
  • Created the v1.2 and v1.3 .jar releases for the team and smoke tested them on Mac and Linux.
  • Managed our Issue Tracker and reviewed issues with the team at least once per week. Here are the issues I added.
  • Identified high priority features to be implemented for each milestone through the use of User Stories and headed many discussions during team meetings.
  • Changed existing mentions of AB3 to SOCareers to match our product name.
• Review/mentoring contributions:
  • Reviewed PRs meticulously and left comments when necessary. Here are the PRs I reviewed.
